Every creator starting out with AI filmmaking hits the same handful of snags in their first week. We pulled these straight from onboarding calls with our cohort — unscripted, real questions — and paired each with the fix. If you are setting up your first project, this will save you a few hours.

How long should my script be for AI breakdown?

Keep it tight. Roughly three pages is about three minutes of screen time. Long scripts make the shot breakdown lose cohesion — it over-splits, fixates on minor details, and can even drop beats. Work scene by scene and trim as you go.

Why did the breakdown create so many shots for one moment?

The AI can latch onto small details and over-generate (nine shots where you wanted three). Use the three-dot menu on any shot to Merge with previous, Edit, or Delete, and regenerate the AI suggestion when you combine shots so the prompt matches. You stay the editor; the program does the heavy lifting.

I uploaded my character's photo but it isn't showing up. Why?

Images dropped into the project are general references — they are not tied to a specific character. Upload a character's image on its asset card (or in the Creative Bible), and the program will use it for that character. If Design shows an empty or generic character, this is almost always the cause.

What format should my series Bible be?

A text-only PDF. When a PDF mixes images and text, the AI tries to read the pictures and the words come out wrong. Keep the writing in the Bible, and put the pictures under each character, prop, and location card.

How do I keep a character consistent across episodes?

Design the character once, open its three-dot menu and Promote to Creative Bible, then Sync Bible from the project overview. In later episodes, use Import from Bible instead of rebuilding. Consistency of faces and wardrobe within a shot is the genuinely hard part of AI video today — it improves with iteration, and a strong reference image helps.

How do I keep screen direction consistent — like the ocean always on the left?

Lock it in the keyframe, which is the starting image of each shot. Fix composition and direction there so rendering has less room to drift.

Can I test cheaply before spending render credits?

Yes. Every step keeps a version library, so you can render a shot in low resolution to check the motion, then re-render the same shot at full quality once you are happy with it.

Where do I start a new series?

Use the Vertical Shorts template, not an empty project — it includes functions for generating multiple episode scripts. You can still upload your own script and override.
